Zoo's monarch waystation

This Monarch Waystation, #3624, is part of our butterfly garden which is inside the zoo. The purpose of our Waystation is primarily educational, to teach the public about the importance of native plants and milkweeds in the life cycle of butterflies and other pollinators.


Swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata), butterflyweed (A. tuberosa)

Native nectar plants

Many native plants including purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) and gray-headed coneflower (Ratibida pinnata).

No chemicals are used.
