Native Plant Shopping Guide
These lists are compiled in March. If you’re looking for a particular plant, we recommend you check with the nursery before traveling to make sure it’s still available later in the season.

Our FREE Native Plant Shopping Guide (NPSG) lists native plants sold by several Central New York native plant nurseries.
The Shopping Guide includes the following three sections:
- The INTRODUCTION explains more about the Guide, the codes used, some native plant shopping tips, additional plant references, as well as the location and contact information for the nurseries.
- The PLANTS LISTED BY SCIENTIFIC NAMES and the nurseries selling them. We encourage you to choose plants by their scientific names since they’re more accurate than common names.
- The PLANTS LISTED BY COMMON NAMES and the nurseries selling them.
We also have a separate list of LANDSCAPERS who can help you design and/or maintain your native plant natural landscape.

Please CALL AHEAD before you set out on your shopping trip! Confirm the hours the nurseries are open and confirm that your selected plants are currently in stock. What is available in May, for example, may not be available in July. Call ahead to avoid disappointments and wasted gas!
